Tearful Mommy Moments

Two nights ago I was putting the Bear to bed. I was holding her singing nighttime prayers as we have done every night since she came home from hospital. After I got done singing I kissed her and said "night night" she stared at me then gave me a kiss on my mouth & then started giving her little open mouthed wet kisses all over my face!! I was trying so hard not to cry but it was impossible. As I was holding her I had a flashback of when she was newborn and how much she has changed. Once again another precious moment God has graced us with! I ran down stairs and said, "Babe touch my face it is so wet." Adam looked at me like I was crazy! Yesterday I answered my phone while Ellie was sitting on my lap. I said "Hey" to my friend on phone and my little friend on my lap said "Hey" - I cried again!!! Yes, I am going to be that proud Mommy that cries all the time........

Weekend with friends

Last weekend our friends Renee & Anne had a joint 31st birthday party. We grilled out early in the afternoon so all the kiddos could play with each other. Ellie loved the doggies, she would crawl afer them & touch their legs - a dog would make a great 1st birthday present Adam..... It was great seeing everyone!! A few our friends stayed the night with us - we had a house full of babies!!! Loved it! Madison (Beth's little girl), Waits (Carrie's little boy), & love bug - Baby Caraline was in the swing next to them.

So needless to say he would hussle to get in the picture but the flash would go off right after he hit the button, it was hilarious - ummm I guess he didn't know how to work the timer : ) Happy Birthday Renee & Anne!!

9 Months!!!

Ok, so I finally have had time to update the blog. Ellie turned 9 months on the 11th, she has begun doing so many new things. I have been worrying that I am not going to remember all the cute little things she has been doing, so that is why this post is soooo long. A lot of this might bore you but I need to type it so I remember : ) I need to find a way to print off the blog and put it in a nice book, that would make an awesome baby book-wishful thinking!!!

Weight: 16lbs 14 1/2 ozs

Height: 26 1/2 in

Milestones: A pro at crawling & pulling up, working on sitting down from standing, starting to cruise furniture, reaching out for Mommy & Daddy, likes to hold hand up like she is giving a high five (I love this), plays peek-a-boo all by herself, crawls all over us, throws and rolls the ball, instead of eating her food she puts it in the cup holder which is part of her high chair trey, clicks her tounge, plays patty cake, gives kisses to her books & sometimes us, turns the pages on her books as we read (this makes reading interesting), she puts things to our mouth like her pacifier, helps mommy get her bath ready, loves splashing in the bath, not good at listening to Mommy & Daddy when they say "no"

Words(sounds) - not used in context of course: "hey", we have always said hey as we wave in the mirror and now she says it (at least that is what we think), buh-buh, dada, muh- muh, lots of baby gibberish. About a month ago my friend asked - what is Ellie going to call you, I said Mama and Ellie copied me so clearly, it was funny. I really haven't heard it that clear since.

Likes: touching people's faces, waving to baby pictures, scrunching her nose & breathing heavy through it when she gets excited, playing with the door stoppers, opening and closing doors, drawers, & cabinets, patting on the scale & watching the numbers change, turning the volume knob on the stero receiver, when I try to eat her food she thinks this is funny, banging her pacifier on things, splasing in the bath tub, the little boy I tutor - she can't take her eyes off him - he makes her laugh soooo hard when he runs laps in the playroom around her toys.

Dislikes: hairdryer, taking long naps, and Portrait Innovations

New Big Girl Finger Food Likes: 'Yo Baby Yogurt', bread, Boca Chicken patties and green beans (if she's in the mood).

Food Dislikes: most everything - she is picky like her Daddy, definitley doesn't like the baby food meat, yuck!

Mommy Thoughts: I think her two top teeth are trying to come in because last week we were up every couple of hours with her, she seemed to be in pain. It was like having a newborn again!! Ellie warms my heart everyday. I love when she just stares at me and then gives me the MOST loving smile. Every morning I get her out of her crib and we just hug, she actually stays still!!! I cherish all these moments, God has truly blessed us!!!

Studio Pictures

So we decided to take Ellie to have her pictures taken @ Potrait Innovations. I do not know if we can ever go back!! She hated the place!! Once they pulled the white backdrop down she lost it. I am not a big fan of backdrop pics & obviously neither is she. I decided to go there because one of my friends took her daughter there and her pictures looked really good. We are happy, all things considered, with our pictures and the photographer was very nice & patient!! You can tell she was very upset in the pictures - note the red dots on her face, this is what happens when she cries REALLY hard! I had two outfits planned, plus tights and shoes - Adam would not let me torture her with another outfit or tights/shoes. At least I got A LOT of naked baby pictures, which are my favorites anyways : ) Here are some of our favorites & some that will give you a laugh. The images from the cd look terrible on here - sorry, they look alot better in person. I can't get some of the pictures to rotate - UGH!!

Just as happy as she can be, chillin in Daddy's sunglasses! We went to run some errands while we waited on the pictures and someone was all smiles - funny how that works out!!

Last week Ellie started giving kisses! Her first kiss was Elmo (she has a book with Seasame Street characters & the only page she puts her mouth on is Elmo-I think she has a crush, it is sooooo cute). I have gotten a couple of kisses & so has Adam, but Elmo gets one everytime we read the book. It seems like she is trying to give hugs too, she will put her arm around your neck when you hold her. She is a lovebug!!!!!!

Family Time

Ellie loves hanging out with her family! Granddaddy & Aunt Emily spent the night at the beginning of the month. Grammie watched the babe while Adam & I saw George Strait. Mimi & Papa watched her when we saw Eric Clapton. Uncle Kevie also stopped by for a visit not too long ago.

The little bug has been busy crawling over the past couple of weeks. I will post a video soon : )She is also pulling up on furniture & the crib!! She really likes the taste of her wood crib - someone has become a little beaver knawing away at the wood on her crib, yikes!!!! Ellie has also been busy making some weird repetitive noises. Uncle Kevie came over at the beginning of the week & when he said bye she started clapping - he was a little sad that she was happy to see him go. Sorry Uncle Kevie I think the lovebug is confused with the wave bye bye & clapping. She has been quite the social butterfly with her friends & offering priceless smiles to strangers on errands. She is a happy girl!!
Which magazine should I read? Ellie loves pulling herself up to standing on our new ottoman, our way of babyproofing is buying new furniture - there are no sharp edges on it : )

Ellie finally got to meet her friend Wyatt, we call him "W". Wyatt is my friend Anne's son & he is 2 months. When he would cry Ellie made some funny noises like she was trying to comfort him. We love you cute Wyatt!

A couple of weeks ago we went to see some of my teacher friends from Lilburn Elementary. In this picture is Jeanine, she is holding Ellie & beautiful Audrey (Audrey is Lauren's daughter, she is 6 months). We are so glad we got to see you Jeanine!
