Ellie's New Year's resolution (we made for her) was to say goodbye to her pacifier. She has still been using it at naptime & night time. I think I have been hanging on to it longer because I was so worried that she would not nap anymore but now is the time!! New Years evening I gave Ellie some time in her room to say goodbye to Pacie. I told her to let me know when she was ready to wrap it up and give it to the Pacifier Fairy. She came to me and said I am done Mommy - I had to hold back the tears!! Such a Big Girl!! She decorated an envelope to put her pacifier in. We taped it up and left it on the fireplace for the Pacifier Fairy. I did bust her opening it up taking a few last sucks, so I had to put it on the mantle. Night night time was sooooooooo sad that evening we did our regular routine and once I got her all snuggled in she set up looking for her pacie. I reminded her that the Pacifier Fairy was coming tonight to take her Pacie to a baby that needs one. She cried & cried....... That night she yelled for a couple of hours -sobbing "I want my pacie!!". I definitely cried, I felt so bad for her. The next morning she came down and saw her Princess Castle Clock the Pacifier Fairy left for her. She was so excited! The next couple of days were still tough but she understood that she was a big girl now ;-) Proud of our little girl! Thankful that Emma has not taken to the pacifier so we don't have to go through that again!!
Decorating an envelope for her Pacie while Daddy & Emma cheer her on.
Pacie is in the envelope ready for Pacifier Fairy!
Pacifier Fairy came!!
The castle clock plays music, tells stories, & is a night light. Hope it gives Ellie comfort during the night as she misses her Pacie!
