13/14 Months - Catch Up

Ok, so I am having one of those - "oh my gosh I better document these things before I forget the moment!!" So that should be your forewarning that I am about to go off on things that might bore you but I have to put it down so I don't forget :( I guess I have to stop doing these massive posts, I just need to realize she is a big girl now & she will be doing new things everyday!

Favorite Songs: Wheels on the Bus; Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes; and still the ABC's, she is now starting to sing some of it, she says "ABeess"

Talking Alot, here are a few new words: Molk(for milk), Wawa(for water, she picked this one up @ school), No No, Night Night, Nak(snack), Babeeeee(baby), TV, up pease, out, off, football, Mama(FINALLY!!), ice, big kids, up down, cup, duck, apple, banana, Gigi, Mimi, Papa, Lalaa, book, bike, outside, pap pap(pacifier), head, and anything you say she tries to repeat it, I said pterodactyl the other day & she tried to repeat me - it actually sounded pretty good!!

Motor Skills: walking full time, dancing, coloring, feeding herself w/ spoon, rocking on her bike, climbing on furniture, turning lights on & off, getting more patient w/ puzzles, still not a big bouncer, taking lids on & off - she gets very obsessed with taking this on & off

Connections: ~ On Baby Einstein they show a sequence of pictures and Ellie pointed to each one and said their name - "duck, cup, apple". I was amazed b/c they didn't even say it on the show, they just showed the picture & she knew the word!! ~ She picks up cups & says ice while see is pointing at the ice machine. ~ We were pushing her around on her bike in the cul-de-dsac and when we were finished we said time to get off. She shook her head & said "No No"!! ~ Says Ellie & then points to her chest : ) my fav. ~ Signing more when she wants something (well sometimes)

Likes: fruit, cookies & ice cream(her daddy gives her this), her bike - getting on & off, plus riding it, snuggling w/ Mommy & Daddy, giving kisses, tight hugs, patting, dancing-twisting her body & clapping hands, CMT music videos on Sunday morning, books, talking, pointing, coloring or as I call it scritch scratching, trying to put Mommy & Daddy's clothes on her head, puts clothes & shoes on her feet, playing outside, putting on her play bracelet & lipstick, and she likes to fake laugh : ) If someone else is laughing she will start her fake laugh!!!

Looks: 10 teeth and she has enough hair so that I could make her 1st ponytail!

Discovery: Ellie started walking slowly & cautiously. She was so funny at first, she would stick her arm straight up in the air with her pointer finger leading the way. Then she needed to hold something in on arm & point the way with the other :) Next she decided she would challenge herselft by taking a couple of steps, then fall down & get up - she thought this was hilarious. She did this for awhile before she really started walking. Ellie likes to challenge herself; when she was younger she would do this & get very frustrated but I think with age she is getting a little more skilled so she is accomplishing her challenges! One day we were laying in bed and Ellie stood up on the bed & then sat down, next she stood up again and added a few hip shakes then sat down, again she stood up, shook her hips, and then clapped her hands. She was creating such a sequence, after each new move - she would look at us & smile real big, she was so proud of herself & so were we!!!

The Baby is in School!!

I went back to work the 1st week in August - full time, so Ellie started going to a little school. The 1st week was tough on all of us, many tears were shed. At first the baby was not eating & they had to hold her all day!! But now she is the "hit" of the school. Her teachers say she is so friendly to everyone and all the teachers want her to come hang out in their classroom. I am definitely happy with her teachers they love her so much & that is all I can ask for! I definitly have become that nagging parent, I have already had a talk with the owner about some issues I had :)
Cute School Things:

~Ellie has a little boyfriend in her class, they follow each other around saying "Da". Everytime we pick her up he is close by~too cute : )
~Her 2nd week at school she sat on her mat during nap time & ate Cheerios while pointing at all the kids as they were sleeping. Working her cute little magic so she didn't have to take a nap!!
~Her teachers have noticed her love of dancing & her chronic humming as she enjoys a good meal :) When they told me that I knew for sure that she was happy @ school.
~She helps her teachers clean up & listens very well to their directions - our good little student!!
Yucky School Things:
~She has had the croup!!
~She got her 1st case of pink eye, her 1st ear infection, & a sore throat!!!
Oh the joy of school germs!!!

Beach Baby!!

The last week in July we headed to Rosemary Beach with Adam's family. The weather was beautiful & so were the beaches!!! Mimi & Papa found a really nice house and they even got chairs/umberllas on the beach everyday!! Guess whose chairs were right next to ours??? Tom Glavine!! We enjoyed eavesdropping on them - they have a little boy Ellie's age, so next year we might have Ellie ask to be his friend : ) I got down to the beach a day late b/c I had a wedding to attend. The word was that Ellie was walking so much the day before I got there that she had blisters on her feet........ When I got there we tried to get her to walk to me but, just as I suspected, she crawled to me & then didn't walk the rest of the week - because Mommy was there, that little stinker!!! Ellie had fun playing in the sand, dodging waves with daddy, entertaining everyone at dinner (she made sure everyone at the table was staring at her-that gal knows how to work it), and laughing her silly laugh. We had a nice relaxing vacation - thanks Mimi & Papa!!!

Go Go Go....

It is just so amazing how fast Ellie is growing & how fast she is going!!!! Here are a few pics of our nice Sunday we had has a family : ) I broke out some art supplies & Ellie made her first art project, we used stickers & toddler markers. Adam was busy doing yard work so Ellie & I joined him outside with her push toy & bubbles. The bear has become a pro with push toys, she can now turn her toy on a dime & reverse if needed (Adam helped her perfect these skills). :) We are still working on walking alone, she has taken a few more steps on her own but she still prefers crawling or holding on to someone's fingers. Grammie's 60th Birthday Party!!

We had a surprise birthday party for my mom "Grammie" to celebrate her 60th birthday! She was SURPRISED!! Ellie had a good time partying with Grammie. Here are a couple of pics.
